It Starts With Food by Dallas & Melissa Hartwig

I picked up this book because a fellow friend was reading it and she mentioned some things from the book that got my interest.  So that very night I purchased the book.  It is filled with so much real facts.  How we eat Frankenfood and how we Carb overload.  How we enter this horrible cycle and it's because of the food we eat.  If you are on a journey to learn about food and how you can obtain optimum health this book is a must read.  Break the horrible cycle of dieting and just heal your body.  Great book.

Vegan Cooking for Carnivores by: Roberto Martin

My friend gave me this cookbook I have just recently changed my diet to Vegan and I was getting tired of eating salads and bean burritos and soup.  I was feeling deprived.  So when I browsed through the book I figured I better learn how to cook all over again.  Then I read something the chef said.  " the key to making good food vegan is substitution. "  I have tried the Mac n Cheese all I can say is yum.  I made spring rolls.  Beef Stew and a Thai Noodle Soup I plan on trying to make all 125 recipes.  I love the book it taught me that being Vegan is a good thing.  Even if you eat meat pick it up and replace some of your meals no one will know the difference.

Plum by: Makini Howell

I recently was prescribed a Vegan Diet for health reasons, and I am going to say that it is really hard. I find myself reading every label and only eating salads. i have to say I got pretty tired of salads. I knew I have to do something. Then I came across Plum gratifying Vegan dishes. I have to say I loved the photos, and it ignited a new passion for searching out the best in taste. I am a little afraid of cooking with tofu, but I found some recipes that are doable and sound great to eat. I loved the charred broccolini, and the purple smashed potatoes. The photos are beautiful, and the dishes are quiet delicious. I loved this cookbook and I decided I am going to attempt to cook every dish. I recommend this book to all the Vegans, and Foodies out there. This is truly a keeper.

The War On Christmas by Bodie Hodge

As we get ready for Christmas it easy to forget about the true meaning of Christmas.  I am a Sunday School Teacher and I found out Jesus is second to Santa Claus, and these are children whose parents grew up in church.  I wanted to bang my head to the wall. Then I received this book for free.  It was fascinating.  I began to read how we lost the true meaning of Christmas believers and non believers.  It was an eye opener.  Bodie Hodge speaks about the Christmas Sermon that really brought conviction to my heart.  In Chapter 13 he talks about the baby Jesus and the need for him.  Every chapter brings you to a clearer understanding of Christmas and how it is more than gifts, decorations.  It is about God and His Son Jesus.  The miracle of Salvation.  The end to a 400 year silence and Gods endless love.  Bodie Hodge Opened my eyes to more than just a war on Christmas.  There is a war and Christians need to be prepared, I truly recommend this book. It will make a great Christmas Gift.  God Bless.

Then Like The Blind Man: Orbie's Story by Freddie Owens

Then Like The Blind Man: Orbie's Story started off slow, but I did like how the author narrates it through the eyes of a child.  It takes place in a time of prejudices, Detroit and Kentucky in the summer.  Orbie stays with his Grandparents while his mother and stepfather head to Florida. He meets new friends and gains a new found courage that he will eventually need later.  There is a long list of characters each one special to Orbie, and the book does get suspenseful as the story progresses you will find yourself not putting it down happy reading.  I received this book for free from BookBub.com
